Overview

Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Commercial (C&I) Lending Team. Primary areas of focus include Relationship Management, Portfolio Management and Business Development. As a member of the senior management team, participates in the formulation of the Bank's policies, procedures, and objectives. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

Develops and recommends the Commercial (C&I) Lending Team's plan of organization and staffing. Actively participates in developing short and long range plans, strategies and policies.Selects and provides for the continuing development of subordinates including lenders/officers and support staff. Conducts periodic performance reviews and provides for the ongoing guidance, training and direction to subordinates in developing and implementing plans and objectives.Oversees the development and maintenance of the commercial loan portfolio on a profitable basis. Participates in joint calls as appropriate.Carries out ongoing business development programs to promote the Bank's commercial (C&I) lending activities. Prepares periodic portfolio performance reports.Works closely with Chief Commercial Banking Officer, (CCBO), lenders and credit in the evaluation of loan requests. Serves as a voting member of Senior Credit Committee.Works with CCBO, and managers of Business Banking and Cash Management to ensure a cohesive and efficient relationship between the departmentsEnsures that all lenders and loan support specialists maintain eCredit files in a timely and accurate manner.Represents the Bank through participation in various community and industry related activities. Actively promotes interest in the Bank wherever and whenever possible. Refers sales opportunities to other departments or bank affiliates in support of established objectives.Ensures full compliance with the Bank's Information Security Policies and Procedures.Maintains proficiency in regulatory compliance and industry developments; apprises staff. Recommends procedural changes to support prescribed requirements.Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.Requirements

Education

Master's Degree in business administration or its equivalent is preferredWork Experience10+ years of progressively responsible commercial lending experience is required and3+ years in a managerial capacity is requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBalanced business development and credit skills.Excellent analytical organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.Strong sales ability and negotiation skills.Must possess at least intermediate technology skills, including knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.Principals only please.
