Purpose of this Position:

The Business Development Representative’s primary objective is to cold call into transportation industry contacts to discuss their interest in reviewing McLeod Software, and to schedule an appointment between the prospect and the relevant DSM/RSM. Also, the BDR contacts prospects within the transportation industry who have initiated general inquiries or responded to an active marketing campaign. The BDR will discuss the prospect’s needs, timeline, and other items relevant to their selection of a software solution, qualifying their interest. The BDR will be diligent, self-driven, and ready to accept a rewarding but often challenging role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Answering call in leads from prospective McLeod Software customers and completing all documentation and follow-up.Respond in a timely manner to Web Requests for additional information / demonstrations re McLeod Software, and communicating the relevant information to the appropriate DSM / RSM along with all paperwork, emails, etc.Process all new leads forwarded to them by Business Development Director.After initial training period, BDR will be available to call prospects in selected territories.Contacts McLeod prospects to discuss their needs and provide information on McLeod’s various products and services.Qualifies the prospect’s level of interest and determines next appropriate course of action.Schedules and forwards all requests for demos, additional meetings to the appropriate sales manager.Making appropriate quantities of dials on a consistent basis.Gathering an appropriate quantity and quality of cold call generated leads on a consistent basis.Conduct, attend and participate in weekly meetings with their DSM/RSM team.Attend and participate in weekly meetings with their supervisor.Documents all activities with the company’s NetSuite CRM.Be available to assist others on the Business Development Team when requested by your manager.Competencies:

The following are strongly preferred: 2+ years of demonstrated success in a Lead Generation Sales role; transportation or logistics industry experience; and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.Ability to travel up to 10%.Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
