A Day in the LifeThis position is an individual contributor on the Ethics and Compliance team who will support the execution of Ethics and Compliance programs related to health care professionals (HCPs). The Compliance Specialist will be expected to lead and support projects independently and escalate issues to team leadership as needed. The role requires working collaboratively with other Ethics and Compliance Centers of Excellence (COEs), Operating Unit (OU) Compliance Officers, and other stakeholders. The Compliance Specialist is also expected to be an effective ambassador of Medtronic’s Compliance program to business functions and HCPs. The Compliance Specialist will take ownership of results and identify opportunities for process improvement. The team’s primary focus is on Business Conduct Standards (BCS) program work but the role will also help identify opportunities for greater alignment and COE support across regions.

This position will reside in Minneapolis, MN and work at our Operational Headquarters location per the hybrid guidelines.

As an individual contributor, lead and support projects and day-to-day program work, independently and with minimal supervision

Lead and support work related to HCP Interactions programs that may include, but are not limited to:

Needs assessment (project briefs), fair market value (FMV), and HCP services

HCP Therapy Awareness Partnerships

Cross-border HCP engagements

Grants, Donations & Sponsorships

Global Business Conduct Standards

Global transparency requirements

HCP data stewardship and quality assurance

Off-Label and Scientific Integrity

Answer questions and provide guidance related to Medtronic policies and ethical conduct

Ask questions and identify concerns through day-to-day work, thinking critically about optics and potential risks associated with HCP interactions

Collaborate closely with Compliance Officers and other colleagues to support Medtronic operating units and regions

Provide recommendations for monitoring, training, and communications related to HCP Interactions

Actively support the team’s work toward problem-solving and continuous process improvement

Lead and support the development of Compliance programs and strategies

Proactively identify and implement program improvements by driving alignment among stakeholders

Simultaneously manage day-to-day work and long-term projects effectively

Provide general Compliance guidance to internal functions and take responsibility for helping the business navigate Compliance processes

Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, escalating issues to leadership as needed

Promote a service-oriented Compliance organization

Act as a positive and professional resource for teammates and business partners

Support a positive team culture by consistently demonstrating active listening, curiosity about others, and kindness

Model a culture of ethics and integrity

MUST HAVE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of compliance experience, or, an advanced degree

Ability to communicate fluently in English, verbally and in writing

NICE TO HAVE:

Expertise related to basic Compliance issues associated with HCP interactions, including anti-kickback, anti-bribery, and conflict of interest concerns

Experience with process-improvement principles, lean sigma, and/or Medtronic Operating System (MOS)

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills in writing, in person, and in a virtual setting

Experience with project management and reporting technology (e.g. SmartSheet, Microsoft Lists, Planner and Teams, Power BI)

Experience supporting ethics and compliance initiatives

Experience in developing standardized processes for managing and tracking strategic priorities

Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously with demonstrated experience influencing action through others

Strong analytical risk identification, evaluation, and response skills

Demonstrated experience building positive relationships and working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including with employees, senior management, external parties/authorities and customers

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $68,000.00 - $102,000.00
