Certification must not have been lapsed more than 5 years . 3760 W Dimond BlvdAll In-State Laterals:Pay incentive for an in-state lateral police officer will be at a higher step based on time in service. The initial pay incentive will be capped at Grade 35, Step 6, which is $46.34 per hour. Additional step increases will occur following probation and annually thereafter until the maximum step 10 is reached.In accordance with the APDEA CBA, after successful completion of probation, employees are eligible for educational pay benefits of the below amounts for college degrees issued by an accredited institution as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA):4% for an Associate's Degree8% for a Bachelor's DegreeMilitary Security Forces/MP applicants:Soldiers who are military police, security forces or civilians such as Department of the Army Civilian Police do not meet the definition of a lateral hire by the Alaska Police Standards Council and should apply to the Recruit Police Officer announcement at

to be considered.The duties and requirements of a Police Officer include, but may not be limited to:Enforcement of all criminal and traffic laws.Performing a variety of crime prevention and enforcement duties as assigned.Responding to complaints and requests for Police assistance.Enforcing traffic regulations, directing traffic, investigating collisions, and completing detailed collision reports.Conducting preliminary investigations; collecting and preserving evidence.Maintaining records and daily reports; preparing cases for court testimony.Testifying in court as required.Coordinating with other agencies as required.The physical and audio/visual requirements include:Normal color discrimination, binocular coordination, peripheral vision, and corrected visual acuity of 20/30 or better in each eye.Normal hearing or no hearing defect that would adversely affect performance.Minimum Requirements:Must be a

citizen or US National of the USA by date of hire (06/06/2025).High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.Must be at

least 21 years old by date of hire.Must possess a

valid State of Alaska driver's license by date of hire (06/06/2025).Must

Applicants invited to test will be notified via email and/or phone.Entry Testing Information:All applicants must pass the entry level Police test by I/O Solutions.
