The transporter is responsible for the transport and care of patients to and from department at the request and direction of licensed medical personnel and assist with the daily activities of the OR/PACU/OPS/Surgery.What you will do in this role:Demonstrate ability to perform data collection on assigned patient as directed by licensed nursing personnel.Demonstrate ability to perform assigned patient care activities per department policies.Demonstrate ability to assist in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer and discharge procedure.Demonstrate ability to assist physicians and licensed nursing personnel with procedures.Demonstrate ability to provide direct patient care under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.Demonstrate competency in clinical skills, i.e. vital signs, i/o, peri-care, bear hugger Accu-Chek.Demonstrate ability to make appropriate notifications of equipment malfunction and other problems in a timely and accurate manner.Demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe and clean environment of care by cleaning equipment and unit.Demonstrate ability to order needed supplies in a timely and accurate manner.Participates in departments process improvement activities.What qualifications you will need:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Candidates with one-year experience in this field are preferredBLS RequiredValley Regional Medical Center proudly serves Brownsville, TX and the surrounding communities in the Rio Grande Valley.
