What You'll Do

You will lead our team of executive risk advisors help protect individuals and their respective organizations from material exposures which exist in the public and private sectors. Our experts are equipped with the tools and knowledge which allow them to effectively assess and transfer risk on behalf of sophisticated global clients with operations across all industries. The National Management & Cyber Professional Lines Practice (MCPL) have the need for a Senior Vice President/Vice President to expand the service model in this segment, assess client needs, design solutions, train colleagues and negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain coverage that is in a client's best interests.

  • Lead the National MCPL Practice in designing and building out a Canada wide-management, cyber and professional lines group and service model.
  • Deliver solutions in support of existing and prospective clients on a national basis.
  • Establish portfolio relationships and proprietary NFP D&O wordings with key Insurer partners
  • Manage a Cross-Canada portfolio of renewal business pertaining to management lines for key accounts - D&O, Cyber, Crime, Fiduciary, Crime, Employment Practices, E&O.
  • Liaise with NFP producers and client teams across Canada to deliver subject matter expertise and risk-transfer solutions to clients. Travel to NFP offices may be required.
  • Formulate and present renewal strategy presentations directly to client teams or clients.
  • Create high quality market submissions and negotiate insurance programs with underwriters.
  • Compare, contrast, and assess insurance quotes, terms and conditions.
  • Educate, train, and advise junior MCPL staff, NFP producers and client advocates on MCPL product lines & wordings
  • Support new CRSG business presentations and advisory to prospects.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with underwriters, clients and client teams.
  • Actively participate in internal training initiatives and continuing education.
  • Collaborate with both Canadian and North American MCPL Practice for the purpose of resource sharing and consistent client delivery.
  • Network and represent NFP at industry wide events (some travel may be required).
  • Provide current account placement updates to the Managing Director on an ongoing basis
  • Have/Obtain broker licensing in Ontario (RIBO) as well as other licenses across Canada


What You Bring

  • University degree-BComm, BBA (or equivalent) required
  • Provincial P&C Broker License required or obtained within 90 days of employment
  • 8+ years of financial lines broking or underwriting insurance experience preferred
  • Understanding of Directors' & Officers' (D&O) Liability, Pension Trust Liability (Fiduciary), Employment Practice Liability, Fidelity, and Cyber insurance products
  • Existing Canadian insurance underwriting market relationships an asset
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements and financial markets
  • Confident, poised and interactive - when client-facing communicates effectively, demonstrates emotional intelligence, and understands how to tailor responses in a variety of dynamic situations; Can project confidence in client presentations;
  • Proven technical competency and creativity demonstrating excellence in developing and delivering innovative property and casualty solutions

  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adjust to changing workload and priorities
  • Sharp attention to detail with excellent decision-making skills

  • Excellent computer skills expected
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products - specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Attendance at company and industry events may be outside of normal work hours
  • Cross Canada air travel is required
  • Driven, Focused, Sense of Humour and ability to set personal ego aside to achieve client and corporate goals.
  • Bilingualism French/English would be an asset
