Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is searching for an experienced Renewable Energy NEPA Compliance Specialist to support compliance efforts for renewable energy and transmission line projects on federal lands located anywhere near an AECOM office in the West Region including but not limited to California, Colorado, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, or Minneapolis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in contributing to and leading complex environmental studies and permitting efforts for renewable energy projects. This position requires excellent communication, technical, and writing skills; attention to detail; and the ability to lead an interdisciplinary team. Opportunities for growth include development of client relationships, marketing and business development, and managing interdisciplinary teams on diverse and increasingly complex projects.Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Manages or assists in the management of NEPA documentsPrepares or oversees preparation of plans of development, utilization, and operationAssesses the need for or the data adequacy of technical studies and management plansUses knowledge of planning and NEPA regulations for Department of the Interior and other federal agencies to advise renewable energy clientsPlans, implements, and facilitates public and agency meetingsProvides oversight of internal project teams and work productsPerforms as a staff advisor and consultant for one or more technical specialtiesMonitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.Must be able to work collaboratively to implement multiple ongoing projects to successful completionQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience with environmental permitting and planning or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications:10+ years of relevant experience with NEPA compliance, report writing, and environmental complianceProject experience with solar projects, other renewables, or transmission lines on federal landsProject management experienceKnowledge of federal environmental laws and their implementing regulations, including, but not limited to: National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation ActKnowledge of current issues and projects related to the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and other federally administered lands
