Our strategic approach to legal services enables us to effectively assist our clients in pursing innovation and opportunities in the health industry, including health suppliers, health providers, life sciences, and senior living and housing.

This is an opportunity to grow BLG Calgary's disputes practice in health law/health care and life sciences with leading professionals in the space, to work directly with sophisticated clients, and to train and mentor junior lawyers. Our multidisciplinary team of over 100 specialists is Canada's undisputed leader in health care law. We provide innovative and effective legal services through our integrated, sector-wide approach.

The ideal candidate will have 10 - 15 years of experience practicing in health care litigation. This experience may have been gained from a major law firm or corporate legal department. The candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
  • Representing health care facilities and their staff in malpractice litigation and other disputes;
  • Providing risk management advice to senior living clients and health care authorities; and
  • Advising health care institutions and providers in disputes that arise in the provision of health care.


The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and client-focused, have sound judgement, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
