Job Description

In the role of Procurement Manager at URUS, you will be a key player in supporting our Supply Chain organization, overseeing and optimizing procurement activities across multiple domains. Collaboration with a cross-functional team, including external suppliers, is essential to achieve our organizational goals. An important focus will be on documenting, training, and ensuring adherence to efficient standardized procurement processes, procedures, and policies, with particular attention to supplier selection and contract negotiation We are actively seeking an individual with a strategic mindset, analytical prowess, and a dedication to cost optimization to contribute to shaping URUS's global success. Key responsibilities are listed below.

Strategic Sourcing:
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
  • Consider holistic supplier relationships, leveraging buying power, and exploring opportunities for consolidated regional and/or global purchasing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring reliability
  • Monitor industry trends and developments to stay informed about potential changes in the supply chain landscape

Contract Negotiation and Management:
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements that align with the organization's strategic goals and financial objectives
  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository for contracts, ensuring easy accessibility and version control
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to evaluate their adherence to contract terms and address any performance issues promptly

Procurement Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and streamline procurement processes for efficiency
  • Develop and implement KPI reporting mechanisms to track and measure the effectiveness of procurement processes, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Implement best practices and leverage technology to enhance workflow automation
  • Conduct regular performance assessments of procurement processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide training and support to procurement teams to ensure adherence to optimized processes

Cost Optimization:
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product or service quality
  • Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction
  • Negotiate favorable terms, discounts, and pricing with suppliers
  • Regularly assess and benchmark supplier performance and pricing against industry standards

Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with procurement processes and standards
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges in the supply chain

Requirements:
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in building relationships and providing excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing details crucial to the supply chain process
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and adapt to changes in the dynamic environment
  • Skillful interpretation and application of relevant laws, regulations, and policies in the context of supply chain operations
  • Acquired in-depth knowledge of the organizational structure, roles, qualifications, and compensation practices
  • Excellent time management to meet critical deadlines in the fast-paced industry
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills applied to optimize supply chain processes
  • Proficiency in utilizing reporting platforms/tools including examples such as Qlikview, PowerBI, Zycus, and HFM
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze complex datasets, create detailed reports, and utilize Excel functions for efficient data processing

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and procurement experience
  • Highly valued: Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP)
  • Highly valued: Demonstrated experience working in JDE
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Track record of effectively identifying and solving supply chain challenges
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Approximately 20% travel (Canada and US)
