Together, we'll develop an ecosystem that transforms homes into highly intelligent, fully electric spaces, giving users greater control over their energy use and contributing to climate change solutions rather than exacerbating it.We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Product Design Engineer with substantial experience in Electromechanical Product Design.Key Responsibilities:Lead product design from concept through to mass production, working within a collaborative global R&D team.Optimize mechanical designs for size, weight, durability, performance, and cost.Integrate mechanical designs with high-voltage electrical systems, power electronics, and batteries in a diverse team environment.Conduct trade-off studies evaluating mass, volume, cost, manufacturability, reliability, and environmental factors.Create and refine mechanical designs and drawings using PTC Creo/PDM/Ansys.Drive product innovations to meet market needs, focusing on cost, ease of installation, and aesthetic design.Apply engineering expertise to ensure robust structural, thermal, and material performance, as well as manufacturability.Guide product design vision and validation, analyze test/simulation results, and resolve issues.Contribute to project strategy with accurate personal and team schedule estimates.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in consumer product design, ideally in Residential Solar or EV charging.Proven expertise in developing detailed designs through CAD models and drawings for electrical enclosures and hardware.Experience with densely integrated products, including batteries and power electronics.Skilled in designing products using sheet metal, weldments, injection-molded plastics, die-casts, busbars, and harnessing for both prototype and high-volume production.Strong design for excellence (DFX) approach and engineering design methodologies: minimal constraint design, tolerance stack-up analysis, 8D RCA, and GD&T ASME Y14.5-2018 drawing proficiency.Extensive knowledge of designing in compliance with regulatory standards (UL/IEC/NEC).Familiarity with BOM, DFMEA, FTA, and DVT processes is preferred.Why Join Us?Flexibility:
