The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Water Polo/Swim. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges’ commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. This position is a “pool” position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available.Duties and Responsibilities

Coach and administer all aspects of the Women’s Water Polo and Men and Women’s Swim Program.Select, train, and supervise assistant coaching and game operations staff.Motivate and guide student athletes to achieve academic success.Evaluate, plan, and coordinate all programs relevant to student athletes' success.Oversee preparation of the schedule.Monitor and stay within the assigned budget.Engage in approved fundraising activities.Assist in the identification, procurement, and inventory of supplies and equipment.Ensure all facilities and modes of transportation are used safely and maintained properly.Promote the programs within the community through various efforts.Observe all San Mateo County Community College District Board Policies and Procedures.Comply with all California Community College Athletic Association, Coast Conference, and college rules, regulations, and policies.Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree AND two years of coaching experience OR an Associate degree AND six years of coaching experience, OR the equivalent.Experience coaching water polo/swim at various levels.Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.Ability to work collaboratively with staff and support student programs.Possession of a valid California Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.Conditions of Employment

Prior to employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete the following:Submit official transcripts.Submit verifications of prior employment.Provide satisfactory references.Clear background check.Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.Approval of employment by the SMCCCD Board of Trustees.Provide a certificate of Tuberculosis exam for initial employment.EEO Statement
