Civil Litigation Associate

A law firm in Rochester, NY, seeks a Civil Litigation Associate with 2 to 7 years of experience. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to providing top-notch legal services in various civil litigation matters. This position requires a commitment to working on-site and offers a supportive environment where legal professionals can thrive and advance their careers.Duties:Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters, including pre-trial work, motions, pleadings, and discovery.Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, arbitration, and settlements.Draft legal documents, briefs, and opinions.Conduct legal research and analysis on case-specific issues.Communicate regularly with clients to keep them informed of case progress.Collaborate with other attorneys and team members to effectively manage case strategies.Participate in depositions and other necessary court appearances.Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in the State of New York.2-7 years of experience in civil litigation.Strong litigation skills, including a firm grasp of civil procedure and local court rules.Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in legal research software and tools.Willingness to work on-site in the Rochester office.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.Certifications:Admission to the New York State Bar.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.High level of organization and attention to detail.Effective interpersonal and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.Adaptability and flexibility to handle various challenges and case assignments.
