Porsesh Policy Research Institute (PR) is a highly driven, independent, non-profit policy research think tank based in Seattle, Washington. PR’s mission is to produce fact-based analyses that inform constructive interventions and solutions to issues affecting underrepresented and marginalized communities, including racial and religious minorities, immigrants, refugees, asylees, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. PR deeply values impartiality, a community and human-centered design approach, as well as the vitality of contextualized knowledge in its studies.Summary:PR is looking for a highly passionate, dedicated and creative thinker individual to join our young team as vice president. Vice president is a senior leadership level position expected to actively participate in day-to-day operations of the institution, supporting the executive team of the institute. Participate in resource mobilization, connecting and sustaining relationships with partners, donors, community and expert networks.Major Responsibilities:Collaborate with the leadership and executive team to ensure the day-to-day operations of PR are running smoothly.Develop and implement fundraising ideas and events, including personal involvement in fundraising activities.Inspire, mentor, and lead a diverse team of researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, policymakers, and partners to enhance the institute’s influence and impact.Take a central role in fundraising efforts, collaborating closely with the development team to secure resources for research projects and initiatives.Identify and pursue potential Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and opportunities for financial/resource mobilization.Oversee compliance with finance, HR, and other administrative processes in accordance with state and federal laws.Manage institutional resources and budgets, communicating the financial situation to the executive team to ensure alignment with organizational capacity.Assist in preparing periodic reports for the board of directors.Assist the president in communicating overall organizational performance to the board of directors.Provide support as needed in recruitment for various positions.Foster collaboration with various units within the organization through regular communication.Perform any other relevant tasks as required.Qualifications:Proven leadership experience, preferably in a policy research, information or nonprofit setting.Strong work ethic, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated passion for social justice and the role of information in driving positive change.Ability to navigate and excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.How to Apply:If you possess a leadership mindset, a strong work ethic, creativity, and a profound passion for making a difference at the intersection of social justice and information, we invite you to apply.
