A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Job Summary:The Entertainment Finance Group (EF) structures and underwrites loan facilities for a variety of businesses in the entertainment industry. As an experienced corporate finance professional, you will be part of the Portfolio Management Group (PMG) team supporting the EF lending business. Critical functions of this position include assessing risk factors associated with a credit and determining appropriate ratings based on established policies and guidelines. You will be responsible for active credit management of a designated portfolio utilizing solid credit and analytical skills, providing continuous oversight of portfolio names, monitoring for potential risk and regulatory rating changes, and proactively identifying credit deterioration with the goal of maximizing net income and reducing credit costs.You as a Credit Risk Manager in PMG will be responsible for the implementation of the credit risk management function within GCIB (Global Corporate & Investment Bank) and more specifically the Entertainment Finance Industry Vertical.Entertainment Finance is a dynamic and fast-paced industry with a variety of tasks and time-sensitive deadlines. While the role is demanding, it offers a highly rewarding experience for those who thrive in an energetic and engaging environment.Active portfolio management of designated customers:Responsible for the management of a portfolioPerform due diligence and regularly scheduled reviewsAnalyze credit risk of the designated portfolio, determine accurate ratings and make recommendations of accurate and timely ratings to managementPrepare detailed credit analysis and credit applications in accordance with MUFG’s Credit Application Operating Manual, Entertainment Finance’s underwriting guidelines, Credit Rules for Overseas Offices, and company's Procedure Manual, evaluating the borrower’s industry/business/legal/financial risks and recommending extensions of credit to managementCoordinate and communicate critical account information independently and directly to various related parties throughout the bank, business line, product groups and CDA (Credit Division of the Americas)Maintain direct communication with assigned customersDeal Support:Work with business lines/product groups to identify prospective transactionsIdentify structural risks in prospective transactions and recommend/enhance structuring of deals and covenant in line with policies and proceduresAdvise internal stakeholders on credit risk issues/terms and conditions to create a best possible deal with a goal of maximizing profit and minimizing credit costDirectly and independently communicate with CDA and ensure it is provided with all related information/analysis pertinent to making a decision with little support from managementPolicy Compliance:Ensure compliance with external regulatory/internal policy and procedural requirements including participation in preparing for and assisting in internal and external portfolio examinations to ensure satisfactory ratingsParticipate in ad-hoc policy meetings to enhance organization-wide credit risk frameworkSupport and mentor junior analysts in credit risk management process:Train and support junior analysts on OJT basis as assigned by MD or Team LeaderGuide junior analysts in completing complex assignmentsStudy, develop and enhance analytical skills of the team through close communicationResponsibilities:Evaluates prospects and analyzes structure of complex financing transactions for new and existing clients in the Entertainment Finance industry verticalEither as the deal team leader or member, underwrites new bank debt transactions according to established policies and guidelines for non-investment grade clients and prospectsManages a portfolio of corporate and special purpose entity clients, including periodic reviews and communication of account information across various constituencies throughout the organizationPrepares cash flow projections to assess the debt repayment capacity of borrowersAssess primary sources of repayment to properly articulate and support external regulatory ratings and provides detailed, objective, timebound and measurable triggers for upgrades (if non-pass) and downgrades.Reviews loan documentation in coordination with both in-house and outside counsel, and collaborates with MUFG middle and back office personnel, to facilitate the closing of transactions by prescribed deadlines.Coordinates the deal process with credit partners in CDA, relationship managers in GRM (Global Relationship Management), and various product partnersTrains and guides the junior members of the teamQualifications:Bachelor’s degree, a CFA is an asset, an MBA and/or degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred but not required5+ years of corporate lending experience, corporate Entertainment lending experience preferredStrong credit and extensive financial modeling skillsKnowledge of standard bank products including loans, letters of credit, derivatives, foreign exchange, securitization and leasingStrong written, verbal and interpersonal skillsThe ability to manage multiple prioritiesEffective communication skills and ability to work with senior credit officers, business partners, and clientsCompletion of formal credit training program is a decisive assetApplying above qualifications towards being able to independently prepare comprehensive, objective, clearly written and properly risk-based credit application packages for new transactions, refinancings, amendments, recurring reviews (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) and ensure inclusion of all necessary memo requirements and ancillary reporting (proper ratings, accurate spreads, appropriate models, etc.) in adherence to internal policies, with limited errors or rewrites, is crucial for success in this position.The typical base pay range for this role is $170k - $190k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
