About the RoleLeading wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager. Offer a wide range of comprehensive solutions for retail insurance brokers and agents. They seek someone who is both a strong underwriter and a good people (sales/marketing) person… which is what their Underwriter/Broker roles are all about.
They have a good-sized Transportation unit based out of Texas; however, Underwriter/Brokers can be anywhere in the U.S. Their Transportation markets are all across the board, so they let their Transportation Underwriter/Brokers focus on the type of business they are comfortable with.
Duties & Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and grow a book of transportation business
Manage agency relationships and serve as lead client contact
Create and execute marketing plan to increase new and renewal business
Rate, quote, and bind each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for large or complex renewals as well as new business
Monitor key metrics
Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of transportation underwriting or brokerage experience required, excess & surplus experience preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
Compensation, Benefits, & Perks$110k. The real money is made via the bonus plan. Every 6 months brokers earn a bonus, and the ones who do well make a boatload of money. Bonus is based off the growth of the book (income). Competitive benefits.
