at our new location in Birmingham, AL.
Responsibilities
Administration of routers and switchesDiagnosing and remediating ISP network problems and managing within a ticketing systemEscalate network issues to vendor Technical Assistance Centers (TAC) and collaborate on resolutionsRespond to and resolve customer service requests in a prompt, efficient and courteous mannerDevelop Method of Procedures (MOP), configuration scripts, and supporting documentation for scheduled network maintenancePerform periodic network maintenance including software upgrades, cutovers, intrusive changes, and diagnosticsManaging and documenting configuration changes and network architectures with tools including Excel, Word, and VisioDescribing technical information to non-technical individualsContinuously monitor industry trends, and applies this knowledge to the positionEvaluating networking equipment and software solutions for clients
Candidates should be self-motivated, resourceful, professional, and exhibit good judgement.
Competencies
Attention to detail (ie, proofreading, data, communications, etc.)Ability to communicate confidently with both clients and team membersStrong written communication across multiple platforms (ie, email, reports, etc.)Proficiency in common Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Teams
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field is required. Experience with Cisco and Juniper hardware is a plus, but not required.
