Risk and Identity Solutions team within VAS (Value added Services) organization is looking for curious, creative, and talented technologists to join our team. This position is for a Staff Software Engineer role with very solid test automation, CICD and container solutions who will focus on creating new frameworks to mature our processes. You will be developing solutions that automate the release cycle from code check-in to deployment. Your solution will focus on eliminating wait times, manual handoffs, and automating as much as possible in order to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of our release and deployment processes.

This position is ideal for a software engineer who is passionate about solving challenging business problems and building applications that provide an excellent user experience. You will be one of the member of the development team focusing on design and build of software solutions that leverage data to solve business problems. Sometimes you will be designing brand-new software solutions, and at other times you may be refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability, but always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our customers. The role is for a self-motivated individual with software engineering skills and knowledge of Database, J2EE and Web technologies. The candidate will be extensively involved in leading hands-on software engineering activities including POCs, design, documentation, development and test of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs. You will also help and guide junior team members.

Essential FunctionsWork on emerging technologies, building distributed applicationsCollaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven solutions.Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolvedPresent technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.Partner with Product on implementation strategy.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.Visa does not support immigration for this role.Visa is not offering relocation assistance for this role.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications:5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhDBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 8 years of Software DevelopmentExperience or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years of Software Development Experience.Proficiency in Java is a mustProficiency in React is a plus.Proficiency in Kafka, Redis Cache is a plus.Proficient in implementing design patterns and hands on knowledge of Spring, hibernate and RDBMS technologies like PostgreSQL, Oracle or similarExperience with web service standards and related patterns (REST, JSON)Experience with Agile development incorporating TDD, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, Mock frameworks.Experience developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low-latency, & strong data consistency computingExperience implementing solutions for low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear & concise way, a team player with a strong work ethic
