(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.We have an exciting opportunity for a Proposal Specialist to join our New Business Proposals team at our Poway, CA site. This role will primarily support international and competitive proposals but may also support U.S. Government sole-source submissions as well. Requires strong writing and editing skills, project management experience, and the ability to lead and/or work with ad hoc project teams in order to submit compliant and compelling proposals on behalf of the company.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under general direction, responsible for planning, scheduling, and oversight of proposal efforts, including editing segments of proposals.Leads proposal efforts to ensure request for proposal (RFP) specifications and Company standards are met; coordinates cost, schedule, and technical elements.Develops pre-proposal and proposal related submissions, RFI - Requests for information, as well as recommending the layout of the proposal.Documents findings, communicates results to proposal or management staff, and makes technical presentations as required.Represents the department with internal and external personnel; presents cost and pricing to management and customer representatives.Coordinates and edits non-technical sections of proposals and assists technical authors in maintaining requirements.Participates in cost and contractual input; identifies issues and recommends solutions.Develops recommendations for changes in proposal policies and standards and develops and maintains various electronic databases.May provide direct guidance to less experienced support and professional staff.Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Additional functions: Other duties as assigned or required.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.Job Qualifications:Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related discipline and six or more years of progressive professional commercial or government proposal experience. Equivalent professional proposal experience may be substituted in lieu of education.Must have a complete understanding of proposal concepts, principles and theory; knowledge of FAR and related governmental rules and regulations; and experience demonstrating a broad and practical application of those principles, concepts, and practices.Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule and coordinate work phases; and determine the appropriate approach at the task level or project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and lead a team; able to perform complex tasks in one technical proposal area; and lead a team of less experienced support and/or professional employees on non-routine tasks.Able to travel as required.Salary:
