CRD Welcomes New Communications Director
The River District is excited to welcome Matt Aboussie as the new communications director for the Colorado River District. Matt brings more than 12 years of experience in PR, communications, branding, and marketing strategies. Most recently, he served as a director at Backbone Media in Carbondale, where he led marketing teams for top consumer brands and nonprofits, directed departmental growth, and co-led the public relations and integrated marketing departments. Additionally, Matt has significant experience working with natural resource issues through his work at Anchorage, Alaska-based Rising Tide Communications. His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for Western Slope water and responsible management of the Colorado River Basin’s water resources. When he’s not at his desk, you can find Matt outdoors, fishing, rafting, hunting, or biking, or at his Carbondale home with his wife, Robin; their two young boys, Alex and Grey; and their dog, Scout.Welcome, Matt!Lindsay DeFrates
