This position is responsible for assisting the coordination of information to support timely and accurate registration for admissions, direct admissions, and transfers to Phoenix Children’s. Additionally, responsibilities include verification of patient demographics, insurance, and initiating authorization notifications for inpatient/outpatient admissions or status changes.Position Duties

Accurately documents all information in the appropriate fields and/or system.

Maintains accuracy when entering demographic and insurance information in the system.Accurately completes all status changes in appropriate system.Facilitates daily census reconciliation.Monitors and updates Bed Tracker system.Creates pre-admission accounts for all unscheduled incoming patients.Creates expected emergency department account visits for incoming patients/traumas.

Accurately reviews insurance requirements and initiates authorization notification/verification using an automated verification tool, insurance carrier websites, or by phone. Accurately documents all information in the appropriate fields and notates accounts.Collaborates with Patient Placement Coordinator in a variety of patient placement duties as appropriate.

Assists with accurately collecting required data for transfer/admission.Assists with determination of patient benefits/eligibility for transfer or admission to facility. Identifies whether insurance is in/out of network and follows appropriate procedure.Assists with incoming calls from providers or healthcare organizations.Coordinates bed assignments with Clinical Supervisor.Coordinates delivery of appropriate bed to patient room.Assigns beds for unit to unit transfers and admissions as pre-determined by Patient Placement Coordinator.Maintains accuracy of bed board.

Maintains a positive, professional work relationship with patients/guarantors, insurance companies, clinical personnel, co-workers, and management to promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive public image for PC.Establishes and maintains multi-tasking mentality in an effort to produce consistency throughout each day/night shift.Participates in a variety of unit and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels.Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.Phoenix Children's Mission, Vision, & Values
