Job Description

Position is Certified Surgical First Assist ( CSFA - CSA - SA-C or RNFA ) PRN working at Northwest Medical Center in the Main OR

The Main OR at Northwest Medical Center features 16 surgical suites in a dedicated surgical wing and perform highly specialized cutting edge procedures AND minimally invasive procedures. Several suites are specialized for specific types of surgeries. Join a team of surgical professionals who are performing new cutting edge procedures and taking great care of our patients.

The Surgical First Assist functions as a First Assistant or as an additional assistant to the surgeon, within scope of practice. Provides scrub and/or circulating services within scope or practice in the operating room during surgical procedures and assists surgical team, as needed, in any other capacity.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Required Education: Successful completion of Accredited Surgical First Assistant (RNFA, CFA, or CSA) program required.

OR

Experience: Required: Two (2) years OR experience as Surgical Tech or Surgical First Assistant

AND

Certification / Licensure

Required: CSFA, CSA or SA-C - First Assist certification

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS

Preferred: ACLS

Credentialing requirements as part of Medical Staff Services application -

Must be able to provide documentation of 100 cases / case logs as a first assistant in the past 2 years

Must be able to provide NPI # and current references

Must maintain competency through continuing education as required by the certifying agency
