Assistant Professor of Exercise & Sport Studies

The Department of Exercise & Sport Studies at Smith College invites applications for a tenure-track position with expertise in human motor learning, rehabilitation science, and/or human movement neuroscience at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2024. Successful candidates should be prepared to engage actively with diverse students across the liberal arts. Teaching responsibilities for this position may include courses in Motor Learning/Skill Acquisition, Anatomy and Physiology, and Rehabilitation Science. Other courses may be taught depending upon the candidate’s field of specialization. Candidates should have a strong foundation in human subjects research and be prepared to develop and engage students in a scholarly research program. Candidates who are knowledgeable about movement, sport and exercise and have the ability to apply motor learning concepts to coaching are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Movement Science or a relevant field is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in the field are encouraged to apply.Located in Northampton, MA, Smith College is the largest women’s college in the country and is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research across the liberal arts.
