Yiddish Book CenterMassachusettsFull TimeDigital Humanities, Archives & Libraries, Non-profitSalary Range: $50-65,000 depending on experience.The Yiddish Book Center’s Wexler Oral History Project seeks an experienced and committed full-time Video Editor and Oral History Archive Manager to provide on-site technical support for the ongoing processing of the Wexler Oral History Project’s rapidly expanding digital collection of one- to two-hour in-depth oral history interviews about Yiddish language and culture.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Process, edit, and upload video oral history interviewsManage on-site and off-site organization, storage, and back-ups of large and expanding digital video archive to ensure long-term preservation and accessOversee work of post-production staff and contractors processing oral history videosSupport content curation for web, email, and social media with editing and graphicsVideography and technical support for recording of on-site oral history interviewsVideography and editing for Yiddish Book Center’s communications and programs, as assignedCoordinate day-to-day priorities within post-production and archival processes, in conjunction with Project’s long-term goals as defined by Project DirectorRequirements:Minimum three years of non-linear video editing experience (including color correcting and audio sweetening)Excellent organizational skillsProficiency in Premiere ProProficiency in Microsoft Office and GoogleDrive applications, and electronic communicationsExperience working in Mac environmentAbility to update and maintain integrated tracking system for a complex workflow and expansive projectAbility to work independently, with low-level supervisionCuriosity about secular Jewish culture and YiddishCommitment to Project missionPreferred Qualifications:Previous work experience with digital collections or archivesPrevious work experience with digital storytellingSocial media content creation and management experienceSupervisory experienceFamiliarity with Yiddish, Jewish history and culturePhysical Demands and Work Environment: The position requires working at a desk and using a computer for prolonged periods of time. The position also requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.
