The candidate will provide 24 x 7 project support for the client. This includes supporting the infrastructure by performing administrative functions of Linux/RedHat (hardware and software), including vendor-supported tools, support of IBM standard tools, and maintaining servers in accordance with customer-agreed-upon security settings. The individual must possess an in-depth knowledge of multiple OEM HW and versions of the OEM OS, be able to resolve complex issues, and have experience in data center relocations.The candidate will need to have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to work independently (self-starter) and in a team environment, and the ability to respond/support critical situations (Crit Sit) and quickly adapt to defined processes and procedures.Skill Required Description
High Hands-On experience with Linux RedHat OS:
Must have primary UNIX skills on Linux/RedHat/Solaris/AIX platforms. Candidates with more than one OS platform skill will be preferred.Hands-On experience with Hardware configurations and device support:
Must possess hands-on knowledge of hardware configuration, including some knowledge of EOL (End Of Life) HW and HCM (Hardware Compatibility Matrix).Advanced Installation kickstart:
Must have hands-on experience in kickstart installation techniques or local repository creation to support mass rollout of server builds.Operating System Configuration/Tuning:
Must possess very good hands-on Linux/RedHat/Solaris/AIX System administration experience.Clustering RedHat/Veritas Clustering:
Must possess clustering skills.Virtualization:
Candidates with OVM, XEN, KVM, or VMWARE knowledge will be preferred.Security Analyst FDA Knowledge:
Knowledge is a plus.Volume/Storage/File system Management:
Must have knowledge of LVM, ext3, HBA config, SAN, Disk config, Mirroring, RAID, Multi-pathing.Network Management Skills:
Working knowledge of NIC config, Link Aggregation/bridging, Routing, VLAN, etc.Knowledge of Solaris, AIX or HPUX:
Candidates with more than one OS platform skill will be preferred.Scripting:
The ability to automate a process to facilitate working on many servers.Patching and package management:
The ability to obtain patches and packages to keep servers up to date, add hardware or functionality.Additional Information
