About the role:SmartBear is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales to drive revenue as part of our API Core North American Sales Team. As a Senior Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading a team of 3 direct line leaders within the Somerville sales organization. A successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading a team of sales managers or enterprise sales executives, achieving and exceeding targets, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a high-velocity environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow API Team revenue globally.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends to drive sales strategies and positioning.
Build and lead a team of sales managers, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team targets. Capable of recruiting top performers and driving a high-performance team of sellers and managers.
Manage the sales cycle, ensuring a high level of quality throughout and ultimately delivering or exceeding plan quarter over quarter.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cross-selling functions and maximize customer satisfaction.
Prepare and present sales forecasts and reports to executive leadership, internally and externally.
We are looking for you if you have:
3+ years of strategic sales leadership experience.
Software sales experience required; experience selling into the software development space preferred.
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing revenue in N.A. or globally through direct and indirect channels.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
Oversee weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning activities including forecasting, pipeline management, and effectiveness.
Help drive strategic initiatives and program improvement related to infrastructure, workflows, processes, and CSM development.
Develop staffing plans and hiring of new team members as needed, including forecasting and determining future needs.
