Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced technical Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) lead to support the ResilientShield project. The "Resilient Shield" is a CDC-funded initiative with the aim of enhancing public health responses through a collaborative modeling and action framework initially developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative involves multiple University of California campuses (UC San Diego is the main/coordinating entity and Dr. Malekinejad is the UCSF PI) and the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency. The project will develop an "enhanced reference design" of previous models, integrating agile data centers and adaptable methods for public health implementation. By leveraging novel data sources like wastewater surveillance, molecular epidemiology, and smartphone-based notifications, Resilient Shield intends to improve forecasting and analytic capabilities to predict and manage infectious disease threats effectively.The approach will utilize advanced modeling techniques, including artificial intelligence, agent-based models, and dynamical systems, to understand and predict human behavior and system dynamics. These methods will be validated through serious games, drills, and exercises, providing realistic training scenarios for public health professionals. The project will also include rigorous monitoring and evaluation to assess performance and engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders throughout the project's lifecycle.Dr. Malekinejad's team at UCSF leads on the RS center's Evaluation and Dissemination efforts. The successful incumbent will use their skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of monitoring and evaluation issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. Anti-Racism StatementRequired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.3 years experience in public health program monitoring and evaluation and skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming.Experience in working with electronic data systems, including interoperability and data exchange responsibilities.Skills reviewing standard electronic data.Skills with project development, maintenance, and administration.Thorough experience in the use of statistical software (R, Python, SAS, etc.) for data analysis.Thorough skills in analysis and consultation.Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret program data from a wide variety of sources and systems.Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.Demonstrated ability to design and execute program evaluation protocols.Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy surveys and questionnaires.Strong oral and written communication skills to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.Knowledge of applicable laws, statutes, and policies regarding health information, including security, privacy, and management of confidential data.Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize projects, time, and workload assignments for a variety of sub-projects.Knowledge of database development, use, and management.Ability to perform strategic and effective data acquisition, management, quality, storage, use, and application of data to address programmatic needs.Ability to engage with diverse audiences and multiple stakeholders and assess information needs; collaborate across agencies and programs to meet shared goals.Preferred Qualifications

MPH or Master's Degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or similar degree from an accredited school.PhD in related field of study.Knowledge of public health, disease surveillance, healthcare informatics/surveillance systems and epidemiologic practices and/or degree in related field.Experience working with a wide range of public health agencies.About UCSF
