CourtStack

Development Platform Teams, you will be responsible for leading the research and development of a statewide data access and development platform, and cutting-edge solutions leveraging leading edge and emerging technologies with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence. You will oversee the acquisition, development and/or implementation of technology and software architecture required to meet organizational needs by providing guidance, proof of concepts, roadmaps, standards, and best practices to other technical staff for one or more technology domains, such as: Software Engineering & Software Architecture, Cyber Security, Database Design/Management, Networking, System Administration, or Cloud Infrastructure with an emphasis on Software Engineering and Software Architecture. You will oversee and perform strategic visioning, complex analysis and advisory functions while serving as a part of the IT leadership team.Responsibilities:Lead the Courts Innovation Team and participate as a direct contributor in the pursuit of solutions that use AI and other emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and legal standards. Drive continuous improvement and stay abreast of industry trends to keep the court’s technology ahead of the curve.Lead the Court’s

development team in its goal of delivering digital court services in an innovative and industry transformative way, that is intelligent, efficient, and cost-effective.Collaborate with domain architects, engineers, and leaders to develop and document technical standards, reference architectures, design patterns, opinion papers, and architecture decision frameworks that guide the design of technology solutions, especially those requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise.Contribute to the architecture review process by creating validation checklists, reviewing architectural artifacts, and providing domain specific guidance to drive architectural alignment across the enterprise.Present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely and can focus on key points to portray the intended message or purpose.Analyze enterprise business trends and business strategy to derive a solution architecture ‘future' state that is in alignment with the courts mission and goals.Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.Research, enforce, and drive the adoption of software design patterns throughout the enterprise and evangelize standards and best practices for solution design and development.Maintain contact with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to keep informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies.TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIESYou will be eligible for a primary telework schedule following an initial training period.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSTo qualify, you

meet one of the following options at the time of application:OPTION I:

Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a related field - AND - seven (7) years experience in solution architecture, strategic planning, and technology governance.OPTION II: (Education Substitution):

Eleven (11) years of experience in solution architecture, strategic planning, and technology governance.OPTION III:

Any combination of knowledge and experience that provides the required skills to perform the job.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with focus on artificial Intelligence.Strong familiarity and experience with AI technologies, particularly in the fields of generative AI and natural language processing.Strong familiarity and experience building reusable software components and solutions for productization.Strong familiarity and experience building abstraction layers, and pluggable and extensible frameworks.Strong experience coding in C# and the .NET framework, with hands-on experience integrating new technologies into existing systems.Proven ability to manage and lead software development projects and teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables within project timelines.Track record of leading innovation initiatives or research and development projects, particularly in emerging technologies like AI and cloud computing.Deep understanding of cloud architectures and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), with experience in deploying scalable and secure solutions.Experience with Large Language Models and their applications in the legal sector.Knowledge and experience in the following technical domains with expertise knowledge in Software Engineering:Software Architecture, Algorithms and PatternsPlatform DevelopmentHosting / CloudBusiness ApplicationsIdentity & Access ManagementData ManagementClient ComputingInformation SecurityExcellent communication skills and ability to influence engineers, peers, and senior stakeholders to consensus decisions.EXAMINATION INFORMATIONQualifying evaluation of training and experience based upon submitted application materials.WHAT TO EXPECT NEXTApplicants who meet the selection requirements will be placed on an eligible list which will remain valid for up to six months and may be invited to participate in an oral interview.IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTSFor general application information, please access the
