Hospitality / Hotel/Resort / Sales & MarketingSummaryThe Group Sales Manager is responsible for selling group room blocks and event space to the SMERF markets by proactively seeking new business opportunities, responding to leads within a 24-hour time-frame, networking, and building client/prospect relationships to meet and exceed hotel revenue goals.

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for the maintenance of Delphi, ensuring account, contact, and event details are current and accurate. The Sales Manager will also meet and greet clients on the day of their event/stay, conduct site inspections, entertain prospects, and follow up with clients post event/stay to assure customer satisfaction.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NEVER LIMITED TO:Responsible for Group and local Business Travel Sales for the hotel.Clear understanding of the hotel's business strategies, then set goals and determine action plans to meet those goals.Update action plans and financial objectives weekly.Identify new markets and business opportunities and increase sales.Represent Hotels in various networking events.Conduct daily sales calls and arrange site inspection trips to hotels by corporate clients.Able to provide quick and timely responses, immediate communication to the properties, develop professional long-term business relationships.Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.Participates in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.Able to support hotels' service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.Work closely with the Director of Sales to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotels.Develop strong relationships with the on-property front office team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals.Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, etc.Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.Acquiring and developing new business accounts and preparing sales proposals for clients.Closely following up on all business leads within a 24-hour response time line to clients.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand or sit for an entire shift.Ability to reach, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull.Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.Ability to work in front of a computer monitor for extended periods of time.Ability to tolerate moderate temperature changes in the building.Ability to handle repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in a hotel environment preferred.Display the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well-groomed.Be flexible since we are running a 24/7 hotel operation.Empathy towards customers and colleagues.Pride and strong attention to detail.Polished personal presentation with a warm, confident, and hospitable personality.Must be able to arrive at work in a timely, consistent, and predictable fashion.Embrace the SMASHotels' culture where our people are our greatest asset, the guest is the reason behind everything we do, we are genuine and humble in our service approach, and we embrace the diversity of our people, which mirrors the diversity of the guests we serve.Ability to perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the director.About the CompanyA uniquely different hospitality company, SMASHotels relentlessly pursues the finest talent, trends, and ambiances to create extraordinary experiences.
