In this role, you will be providing leadership on our key alliances in the Academic and potentially Biotech space. You will be working directly with the project and management teams of potentially all R&D units. This position reports directly to the NA Head of Global R&D Alliance Management. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the alliances; Develop deep understanding of the contractual framework of the alliance and the implications; Solve contractual questions that stakeholders of the alliance may have (in all aspects); Act as the interaction point with various departments such as Legal, BD, Patents, Finance, Commercial Alliance Management; Manage the relationship, including relationship analysis and creating win-win solutions for both parties; Ensure that the alliance follows the contractual framework and that all milestones and obligations are met; Generate in a timely fashion the appropriate agenda; Ensure availability of key staff/members on both sides; Prepare and conduct pre-meetings and debriefing meetings as appropriate; Execute the JSC and any sub-team meetings as appropriate; Write timely meeting minutes and follow up on action items; Set up and take care of joint documentation (joint eRoom/BALI); Provide timely updates on key alliance deliverables and KPIs to R&D management; Present alliances at the R&D reviews as appropriate; Prepare the handover and do the handover to Commercial Alliance Management once an alliance reaches POC; Ensure clear understanding of the contract by the project team; Set up alliances according to the intention described in the AED or AIF; Alert management of any upcoming issues including but not limited to financial diversions. Key Internal/External Relationships:

This role is a matrix leadership position at the interfaces with all R&D Therapeutic units, Therapeutic Business Divisions, Strategic Core Platforms, R&D Support Functions, Industrial Affairs Business Development, Legal, Patents, and Finance. It is also the glue between Sanofi and our partners. Furthermore, it is the voice to the outside world. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the drug discovery and development process as well as excellent scientific knowledge, communication, and contractual skills are key factors for the success of the role. Major challenges may occur from unforeseen problems with all aspects of the alliance including the relationship. Key Internal Relationships:

S&I management and Colleagues; Head of Global R&D Alliance Management & Transactions; Regional Heads of R&D AM & T; Leadership of BUs, SCPs, and TSUs; Transactions, Business Development, Finance; Patent & Legal Department; Project Managers and other JSC members. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

PhD in one of the life sciences; chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or medicine and 8+ years of experience in drug discovery and development, including significant experience in managing R&D alliances. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with academic institutions and key opinion leaders is strongly preferred. The candidate should have strong leadership through influence skills, be highly motivated, results-driven, and well organized with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex matrix environment. The candidate should have excellent communication (oral and written), negotiation, and proactive problem-solving skills and have demonstrated ability to build strong trusting relationships with external and internal partners. Ability to have a very good understanding of agreements and educate others on contractual provisions (intellectual property provisions, publication language, long-term obligations, etc.). Other important skills are resilience, project management, and conflict resolution skills. Additional Information
