The VISN is supporting expanded bed capacity to meet the increased operational surge capacity throughout the state of Texas, and to support the VA’s fourth mission by providing humanitarian assistance.The CandidateProSidian seeks a Registered Nurse to support an engagement with The Veterans Integrated Services Network 17 (VISN 17). and the Registered Nurse services shall be performed at the: VA North Texas Health Care System 4500 S Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216.Services Task and Job RequirementsIn order to perform the duties set forth for this project, the Registered Nurse must meet both the minimum education and experience requirements:Education:

Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from a program that has been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).Licensure:

Registered Nurse with a current Texas State license including BLS certification and ACLS certification.Experience:Assess the physiological and psychological health status of the patient.Formulates and implements a nursing plan of care based on health data provided by the patient.Coordinates patient care needs with team members, including other disciplines.Administer drugs and solutions as prescribed.Physiologically monitors the patient throughout their stay.Adheres to universal protocol.Participates in patient and family teaching.Skills and documentation in the Critical Care.Collects lab specimens to include Blood Cultures per hospital policy.Inserts peripheral IV access adhering to aseptic technique.Performs 12 lead EKG.Demonstrates safe and proper use of equipment.Maintains performance measures in the ER.Provide care for medically/surgically unstable patients.Additional duties may be assigned.CORE COMPETENCIESTeamwork –
