Job Overview - Alternatives Finance Controller:Join our esteemed client's team as an Alternatives Finance Controller in Boston, MA. This hybrid role focuses on overseeing the operations for various private equity funds and providing oversight to fund administrators. $140,000 - $145,000/year + bonusSchedule:
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)Responsibilities as the Alternatives Finance Controller:
Vendor Oversight:
Manage third-party service providers, including fund administration, transfer agency, valuation, tax, and audit professionals.Financial Review:
Approve quarterly/monthly financial statements, capital account statements, and ad hoc investor reporting.Regulatory Compliance:
Assist with SEC filings and other regulatory compliance such as NPORT, NCSR, NCEN, 38a-1, and 15(c) reporting.Performance Metrics:
Review management fee and carried interest calculations, fund IRRs, and total returns.Cash Management:
Monitor cash reserves, approve capital call and distribution allocations, and notices.Data Validation:
Analyze investment capital activity and validate data between external and internal sources.Reporting:
Track financial data, management fees, and expenses in real-time.Audit and Tax:
Manage annual audits, ASC 740 tax provisions, tax returns, and distribution of K-1s and 1099s with external auditors and tax professionals.Qualifications for the Alternatives Finance Controller:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Lux GAAP.Experience:
5-8 years of experience, including 3-5 years of Big 4 public accounting experience with a focus on private equity.Technical Skills:
Familiarity with Chronograph, Canoe, Appian, and Tableau is a plus.Attributes:
Detail-oriented, organized, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service focus.Application Notice:
