Our Medical Center is staffed for 220 beds and provides a full complement of medical services including the only open-heart surgery, advanced imaging, comprehensive robotics, state-of-the-art neurosurgery, and CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation ranked in the Top 10 percent of the nation. Staffed by approximately 750 full and part-time employees, the hospital offers a wide array of inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital provides one of only two single stay cardiac units in the State. Our Medical Center is a Level I Cardiac and Level II Stroke center, with a Level III trauma designation, and a commitment to continuous reinvestment in state-of-the-art technology.

Job Description

Job Function/ResponsibilitiesProvides, promotes, and supports a professional environment that utilizes effective delegation of responsibility. Assists and supports managers in achieving department goals. Collaborates with ancillary departments to achieve care goals.

Department•

31 bed Medical/surgical unit

that provides comprehensive nursing care for pediatric patients (defined as 0-12), adults and geriatric patients. Patients requiring telemetry monitoring are remotely monitored.•

12 bed Orthopedic unit

that utilizes the Marshall Steel model of delivery of care for the total knee and hip replacement.•

30 bed Advanced Care Unit

- Provides care for patients whose needs are between the acute life-threatening level and the less acute levels. Multipurpose unit designed to provide specialized nursing care and telemetry observation when required. Provides comprehensive nursing care for adult patients (17 years and older) to include geriatric patients when physicians feel a more specialized telemetry care is necessary.•

Cardiac Rehab

- Cardiac Rehab is an exercise and education program for patients following a cardiac event. Program consists of both Phase II (Early Outpatient) and Phase III (Maintenance) sessions. Phase II is telemetry monitored program consisting of three sessions weekly for up to 12 weeks. Phase III is a program for those with risk factors for cardiovascular disease or graduates of Phase II. Phase III patients are not placed on a telemetry monitor, but are closely evaluated and assisted with exercise equipment. Both program participants are encouraged to attend educational classes on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and risk factors, as well as attend a one on one session with the dietitian.
