Licensing & Compliance Specialist , reporting to an

Associate General Counsel

within the Legal team, to support the development and implementation of compliance measures related to U.S. export controls (ITAR/EAR) and U.S. regulations for commercial space stations (e.g., FCC, NOAA, FAA).This will be a full-time,

Long Beach, CA

location.Responsibilities:Support implementation of compliance with the conditions and provisos of authorizations under applicable federal regulations (e.g., ITAR/EAR, FCC, NOAA)Draft policies and procedures in support of compliance with applicable federal regulationsAdminister existing compliance policies and procedures (e.g., technology control plans, foreign visitor procedures, restricted party screenings)Conduct compliance trainings and help prepare training materialsMaintain well-organized compliance program recordsTrack deliverables and deadlines associated with license applications, authorizations, and reporting requirementsSupport periodic reviews and audits of compliance program elementsReview regulations and guidance in support of continuous improvement of compliance operationsInterface cross-functionally across the organization with members of the Engineering, IT/Security, Supply Chain, Business Development, HR, Finance/Accounting, and Legal teams to support compliance operationsServe as primary on-site point of contact for compliance operations at Vast’s facilities in Long Beach, CA and Hawthorne, CAMinimum Qualifications:3+ years relevant prior experience (e.g., compliance operations, regulatory affairs, law firm paralegal)Preferred Skills & Experience:Inquisitive and analytical mindset, attention to detail, process-orientedStrong verbal and written communication skillsEnthusiasm for learning nuanced legal subject matterFamiliarity with automating processes using available tools/applicationsExperience within the space/aerospace industryAbility to make independent judgments with limited informationComfortable balancing multiple projects and tasks simultaneouslySalary Range:

California $95,500 - $195,200 USDCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
