The Disability Allies is a nonprofit organization with the mission of connecting young adults with and without disabilities. In order to accomplish this goal, we will help our participants improve their social skills and partner with community organizations to plan social events. Our events are open to anyone that has a disability, knows someone with a disability, or is supportive of people with disabilities.Job Description

Position Summary:The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities to connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. The Community Outreach Director will lead a team in charge of building strategic relationships, conducting a variety of outreach activities, and the recruitment of volunteers and members.Responsibilities:Create and implement our outreach planDevelop and strengthen relationships between the Disability Allies and the communityDevelop partnerships with universities, social groups, and community organizations, in particular those that provide social opportunities to young adults with disabilitiesRecruit and place Disability Allies volunteers within our committeesQualifications & Competencies:Excellent public speaking and presentation skillsMust be able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing prioritiesMust be proficient in Microsoft OfficeAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingAbility to connect with others and develop relationshipsCommitted to the mission of serving young adults with disabilitiesAbility to perform several tasks concurrentlyStrong time management and organizational skillsAbility to maintain detailed records and confidential information
