Job Description

Interact with project stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements and document and publish to the team.Experience in developing, validating, publishing, and maintaining logical data models with exposure to or experience in developing, validating, publishing, and maintaining physical data models.Evaluate existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.Experience with managing metadata for data models.Develop, publish, and maintain all documentation for data models.Work with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Software Developers, and DBAs to achieve project objectives - delivery dates, cost objectives, quality objectives, business customer satisfaction objectives, etc.Participate in data quality and data governance processes.Leverage and enforce standards for data naming conventions to ensure consistency and reuse of data models.Validate business use cases for accuracy and completeness of proposed data models.Ability to communicate strategies and processes around data modeling and architecture to cross-functional groups and senior levels.Qualifications

BasicBachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.At least 4 years of experience in the IT industry.At least 2 years of experience with DW/BI and related tools.At least 3 years of experience with data modeling related tools.Understanding of data modeling architectural principles.Mandatory Technical SkillsStrong experience in databases like Teradata, Netezza, or Oracle.Good experience in Unix environment.Good experience in industry standard data modeling tools like Erwin.Experience in performance tuning in DW environment.Experience in data warehouse/data mart EDW models.Experience in data modeling using dimensional and ER models.Working knowledge of industry standard reporting/ETL tools.Preferred/Good to haveWorked in both OLTP and DW implementation.Good understanding of new technologies such as NoSQL, open source technologies, and columnar databases.Additional Information
