The Software Engineer will be responsible for combining technology and creative problem-solving skills to design, build, maintain, and enhance the organization’s suite of software solutions. This position will be responsible for improving existing applications in both design and functionality to ensure software is meeting both user needs as well as the business operational requirements. They will serve as the primary resource and subject matter expert for all application development, including but not limited to system integrations, automations, and data flows between our environments. The Software Engineer will ensure the association’s system designs consistently align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.Daily Responsibilities:

Collect and analyze user and business requirements (including design components) for technical issues and opportunities across all systems.

Develop deployment schedules that meet project and business requirements; including but not limited to Hour-by-Hour (HBH) plans, monitoring phases, issue tracking, success criteria, and rollback/contingency planning.

Manage the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): planning, designing, writing, modifying, and maintaining software along with comprehensive follow-ups with stakeholders.

Perform and implement thorough and well-documented testing, debugging, quality assurance (QA), and user acceptance testing (UAT) as part of the SDLC.

Design and assess technical architecture and software solutions that are efficient, optimized, and secure from a system and data standpoint.

Provide expertise and recommendations on application design and document accordingly, with Solution Documents and Technical Specifications.

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert as it relates to the design, development, configuration, and functionality for the suite of applications; ensuring regional specificities are considered.

Work closely with external partners/vendors to help ensure applications continue to meet business goals and requirements.

Work closely with external vendors to provide the technical expertise and development design needed to both consume and pass data/information from their respective platforms via integration protocols and methods (REST API, Soap API, etc.).

Partner alongside the Sr. Application Support Analyst to provide the best-in-class customer service and problem-solving capabilities for the association.

Troubleshoot development and system functionality errors to provide timely responses and resolutions.

Help to minimize system and service interruptions for the association.

Periodically assess systems, upgrades, and additional functionality in order to make recommendations to best meet the needs of the business.

Continue application quality improvements and proposed policy and/or procedure revisions.

Help to identify application or system gaps or risks with proposed technical solution alternatives.

Co-Lead the onboarding and inclusion of new systems, data, and integrations.

Co-Lead data integrity checks and discrepancies.

Experience and Competencies

Strong knowledge and experience with programming languages (ex: JSON, SQL, SOQL).

Strong knowledge and experience with various system integrations.

Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Knowledge and understanding of software design, development, and technical quality assurance.

Familiarity and awareness of coding techniques for optimization and efficiencies.

Methodical approach to problem-solving technical and functional operating issues and debugging processes.

Knowledge and proficiency with the full Microsoft suite of products, including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Project.

Strong communication skills and business acumen.

Strong ability to effectively understand and translate business operational needs to technical design specifications.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, time, and deliverables.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years’ experience in system integrations and software development.
