The Senior Portal Applications Developer is responsible for developing portal applications. The position will require working closely with business requirements and design analysts to implement front-end portal applications using IBM Websphere Portal software. Experience with JSR 168/286 Portlets Development is key. The position will also include designing portals that are compliant with Section 508 accessibility requirements. It will require environmental setup, configuration support, application deployments, and application migrations. The role includes providing technical assistance in resolving production system problems, and investigating technologies and recommending solutions to meet business needs.Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS:At least 10 years of general IT related experience, with 2 years being specialized in Websphere Portal application development in a Systems Life Cycle team environment.Ability to use Websphere Portal tools to develop portlets that meet the JSR 168/286 standard.Experience with Section 508 accessibility requirements desired.Experience with J2EE, JSP, and Java Scripts especially Dojo Toolkit and Dynamic HTML required.Experience with GUI design and development is a plus.Experience developing Java J2EE Components including JSPs, and Servlets.Experience with IBM Websphere Application Server.Strong Unix/Linux experience in an enterprise environment is required.Prior experience with Websphere, Java, UML, and other technologies including JMS, XSLT, Xpath, LDAP, ANT, JACL scripting a plus, IBM HTTP Server, and XML configuration.Also desired are best practices for load balancing and fail-over support.Experience with Apache and PHP is highly desirable.Knowledge of web application performance is a plus.Good team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.Additional Information
