The RN would be on call from Friday at 4:30 pm until Monday at 8:00 am (eastern). The RN would be responsible to cover any as-needed visits that arise, as well as scheduled weekend visits including admission visits. Compensation will include an on-call stipend PLUS pay per visit for each visit completed. The Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Licensing or registration is required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:On call from Friday at 4:30 pm until Monday at 8:00 am (Eastern)Must cover any as-needed visits that arise, as well as schedule weekend visits, including admission visitsProvide skilled nursing treatments as ordered by the client’s doctorComplete evaluation tasks, including vital signs and medication reviewsCoordinate with physicians, therapists, and other individuals in the client’s care planAssess and chart observations of the client’s condition at each visitMaintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing careWork collaboratively with all members of the healthcare teamProvide education to clients and families on proper home health care procedures and strategiesRecord patients' medical information and vital signsMonitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient's conditionsAdminister local, inhalation, intravenous, or another anestheticPrepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatmentsModify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditionsOrder, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's conditionMonitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activityEngage in research activities and participation in formal educational training activities related to nursingPerform other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

Must be available on weekends from Friday 4:30 pm until Monday 8:00 am (Eastern)Associate degree required; Graduate of an accredited state-approved, Bachelor’s Degree from a school of nursing preferredCurrent and valid Virginia Registered Nurse LicensePrior nursing experience, specifically in home health (preferred)Current CPR certification (required)Driver’s LicenseCar InsuranceCar RegistrationStrong interpersonal skills that build personal rapport and establish trust with the clientComputer literateStrong organizational skillsExcellent written and communication skillsAbility to meet physical demands of the job (ex: lifting 50 pounds for transfers)Home health care experienceBilingual (Spanish) preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
