Full-Time, ExemptPOSITION SUMMARYNHS of Baltimore, a nonprofit organization, and a community development financial institution (CDFI), is deeply committed to social and economic justice for all people and communities. Our programs include Homeownership Creation, Home Preservation, and Comprehensive Community Development. We are seeking an individual with a shared commitment to justice, and a demonstrated track record of leading resource development initiatives and cultivating relationships with corporate, foundations and public agency leadership, to promote NHS of Baltimore. The Director will be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive plans to raise funds for the organization’s operations, programs, lending, and capital initiatives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSParticipate in the budget development process to meet the needs of NHSAnnually update the resource development plan to meet organizational needsCoordinate resource development activities in partnership with the NHS Leadership Team. This includes:

Proposal developmentProgrammatic and financial reportingGift acknowledgement and tracking

Cultivate relationships with corporate, foundation, and public agency leadership to promote NHSLead NHS’ efforts to identify and solicit new sources of revenueDevelop relationships throughout Baltimore to promote NHSResearch public and private grant opportunities to identify potential fundingEngage and support the Board of Directors in in their fund-raising initiatives and support of organizational needsRepresent NHS in public meetings such as coalitions and membership organizationsMaintain a resource development calendar including reporting and proposal due datesServe as a member of the Senior Staff engaging collaboratively on the team leading NHSPerforms other duties as assignedSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIREDWorks with a high degree of integrity in every circumstanceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience managing a large volume of activity while meeting deadlinesDemonstrated ability to show accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up on tasksAbility to interact with all people in a positive professional mannerCommitment to working as a team member, coordinating activities with NHS staff to meet overall objectives on time and budgetCreative generator of ideas who understand the organizational direction and how to achieve the desired outcomesAbility to make sound decisions within the scope of the jobSkill managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentDesire to work in a highly focused leadership environmentDemonstrated committed to professional growthTECHNICAL SKILLSKnowledge of fundraising techniques with expertise in writing grants and proposalsFamiliarity with the Baltimore non-profit communityComfort working in a racially and culturally diverse communitiesMicrosoft OfficeEDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in any related fieldAt least 8 years related progressively responsible experienceAdditional experience can be substituted for educational requirementMANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has supervisory responsibilities.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, office phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to

occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 25 pounds.
