Client Director

The Director is a member of the senior leadership team and will lead the day to day client facing activity of the business ensuring this is aligned to, and promotes the business’ strategy and culture. The Director will lead a team, working closely with direct reports who will manage the team day to day, focusing on the development, maintenance and growth of a portfolio ensuring high levels of client service.

The role holder will also be responsible for growing their own portfolio of clients by actively engaging in business development activities.

The Director will ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal obligations associated with the administration activity, promoting adherence to policies and procedure at all times.

The Director will have directorships of ZEDRA affiliate subsidiaries, acting as an authorised signatory and potentially a member of the Board of operating businesses.

The Director will promote ZEDRA and our business objectives, whilst driving morale by providing support and guidance (technical and otherwise) to their team. They will have direct responsibility and accountability for delivery of risk and operational targets and key risk indicators for their team’s portfolio of clients.

Key Accountabilities

Client

The role holder will be the primary contact and have overall responsibility for the client relationships associated with their administration team ensuring client services are exemplary, the relationship is commercial, complex technical structuring matters are dealt with appropriately and opportunities to do more for existing clients and to develop relationships with new clients and their advisors are identified and acted upon.

Commercial

The Director will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and conversion into new clients (working closely with their relevant BD Director), as well as having overall responsibility for the on boarding of new client relationships, ensuring client service levels are exemplary; i.e. the relationship is commercial, complex technical structuring matters are dealt with appropriately and opportunities to do more for existing clients and their advisors are identified and acted upon.

The role holder will need to review the BD strategy document as they will be a reference point on technical and other matters and will seek to nurture and develop existing, new and emerging product lines.

The Director will achieve personal and team targets as set out for their role for time recording, utilisation and working capital management. They will understand and act upon the profitability of their team’s client book by reviewing and controlling WIP, ensuring prompt collection of fees and highlighting revenue opportunities. They will work with and support their direct reports to build understanding and familiarity with the working capital cycle and prompt collection of debts.

Risk

The Director will drive appropriate behaviour and take action to ensure agreed business targets are met for their team and will ensure all statutory records and company registers are maintained in good order as well as ensuring any relevant filings are made within appropriate deadlines.

The role holder will ensure that ZEDRA is compliant with local regulatory requirements supporting a positive relationship with the local regulator through strong governance.

A successful Director will use technical capability to identify and mitigate risk within the team’s client book, escalating where necessary and required in accordance with policies.

People Management

The role holder will lead their team effectively and drive performance of the business and ZEDRA. The Director will demonstrate effective communication, an ability to challenge and to prioritise, ensuring the objectives and initiatives are delivered against deadlines.

The Director will provide performance feedback to their immediate line reports and have input into the team performance in order to develop and grow the team.

The role holder will be a reference point for the teams on technical and other matters and will seek to nurture and develop existing, new and emerging talent within the business. In addition they will be responsible for providing regular technical and professional coaching to the wider teams to ensure that they are kept up to date with any regulatory, legal or tax changes that impact their work and that they are aware of the wider impact of both opening and closing clients.

Knowledge and Experience

The successful applicant will have significant industry experience of working with High Net Worth clients and on complex structures within the fiduciary field and will demonstrate first class client service delivering against the needs and demands of high net worth clients both from prior experience and through driving the performance of others. They will have experience of business development and be able to demonstrate excellent technical competency and an ability to impart that knowledge to others effectively. The Director is expected to have a sound knowledge of current issues affecting structures and the clients for whom we act and be expected to have a good understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Group operates. The role holder would also have knowledge of accounting and Financial Statement review processes.

In addition the role holder will have in-depth knowledge of legal obligations and compliance regulations and a full understanding of general regulatory principles having 15+ years’ experience.

The role holder will have demonstrable experience of leading, coaching and supporting colleagues and have prior managerial experience of Associate Directors/Senior Manager/Manager level is essential. The Director will act in a supportive role to their direct reports in the management of their team and will coach and guide the Associate Directors/Senior Manager/Manager in developing their own supervisory skills.
