The purpose of Salvation Army camping is to serve the needs of campers: physical, social, and spiritual. Our aim is to help campers develop good health habits in cleanliness, proper rest, balanced diet, exercise, and care of the body. The camp provides an opportunity for each camper to contribute to and receive from a group living experience. We meet the campers' spiritual needs by integrating concern for the spiritual dimension of life in all parts of the experience.Scope of Position:

The Camp Gifford Business Director will be responsible for the success of the Camp Gifford business, marketing, and income plans. The individual will supervise all year-round and seasonal operations staff at Camp Gifford, serve as the ministry leader for the staff and volunteers, and maintain the focus on presenting the gospel of Christ.Work Schedule:

This is a Christian ministry position. Scheduled work hours will be adjusted as program needs require and can change with minimum notice. The employee is expected to attend services every Sunday except those excused due to authorized program activities, vacation, or illness.Dress Code:

Salvation Army uniform is encouraged for worship and community services. Office attire is prescribed in the Employee Handbook.Education and Work Experience:AA required, BA degree preferredA degree in hotel management and a minimum of 5 years' experience in hotel management or conference hotel event sales preferredMinimum of 3 years manager level supervision experienceMinimum of 3 years summer camp work is preferredMinimum of 4 years of experience in working with children desiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:A firm understanding of Microsoft Excel is requiredAbility to produce profit and loss statementsKnowledge of marketing and sales techniques to produce resultsKnowledge of VRBO salesContract creation, management, and maintenanceExperience with managing property projectsMust be able to utilize all necessary office and ministry equipment adequately (i.e., computers, copy machines, video projectors, etc.)Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communicationAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressureUnderstanding of the development needs of youth
