The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing resources for the Med/Surg Oncology unit at our Hospital. These responsibilities include:Budget responsibilityEfficient/effective resource utilizationRecruitment and effective/efficient management of assigned staffAchieving quality outcomesPerformance improvementMonitoring of quality and quantity of servicesMaintaining positive working relationships with staff and System departments and managersPurchasing and maintaining equipmentCompletes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Related Field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5 years experience in discipline or specialty.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years progressively responsible management experience. Oncology experience desired.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
ONC desired.
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS:
BLS–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.Additional Information
