Job Description :Looking for an experienced WordPress developer to support development, maintenance, and management of Corp and Country affiliate sites on WordPress Network (Multisite) platform and other digital projects as assigned.The successful candidate would be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and updating plugins.The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems.Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred.An understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.Skills:Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using best practice & de facto standard pluginsExperience working with WordPress at a PHP code levelKnowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functionsCustomizing WordPress to support specific functionalityCreation of custom post typesCreation of plugins/widgets written to conform with WordPress coding standardsCreation of clean, logical, well-documented, and reusable codeTheme/template integrationKnowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) requiredFamiliar with AWS LAMP Stack ConfigurationExperience creating multilingual websitesExperience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applicationsUse of AJAX / Prototype / script.aculo.us an advantageExperience designing and developing responsive design websitesComfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pagesKnowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial)Knowledge of different PHP frameworks, libraries, or any other technology relevant to WordPress MultisiteStrong understanding of PHP back-end developmentResponsibilities:Establishing and guiding the website's architectureEnsuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMSHelping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and/or pluginBuild websites, prototypes, and applications using the latest front-end and back-end technologiesProviding timely resolution to reported problems with existing websitesWorking closely with both the design and project resources to achieve the best possible results in web projects from conception right through to deliveryEnsuring all work adheres to current industry best practiceSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work in a team environmentUse common sense at all times and pay close attention to detailExperience:
Minimum 4 years' experience of PHP programming, MySQL, HTML/CSS/LESS/SASS, JavaScript, XML/JSON and 3rd party APIs, Cross-platform and cross-browser, Responsive, Web standards and accessibility, Code testing, Security, DeploymentEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines (MIS, Web Development, etc) preferred.Qualifications
