Manages day-to-day individual and team dynamics, work prioritization, quality, fiscal stewardship, technology strategy, and management of all aspects of a technology life cycle. Provides mentoring and coaching associated with performance development and technology management, makes decisions that influence the system's technology on a large scale, serves as the central point of communication and coordination for technology teams, and manages direct reports who are involved in the day-to-day operations of the system's technology. Provides strategic and operational leadership to guide the IS Operations departments and enable high quality. Influences and directs internal communications and coordinates overall technology needs with vendor implementation managers and coordinators.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Contents are subject to change at the company's discretion.EducationRequired - Bachelor's degree.5 or more years of management or project leadership experience with large software applications will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.Work ExperienceRequired - 5 years related experience including 3 years of supervision or management experience.Preferred - 10 years of related experience, with 5 or more years of management or project leadership experience. Experience leading large, complex system integration efforts or large software applications.Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the required job processes.Broad relevant technical knowledge.Strong project and team management skills.Ability to be self-directed with initiative and drive.Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability).Job DutiesProvides overall leadership and strategic planning for information systems operations.Manages, develops, and retains personnel and workforce to ensure qualified people are available to provide quality support and service.Develops strategic plans and implements the objectives of the organization's information services ensuring that computing capabilities are responsive to the needs of the organization and its mission.Provides support and service for the organization's technology infrastructure.Ensures that information system operations are managed in a fiscally sound manner consistent with information systems division financial goals through effective budgeting and resource management.Introduces and enforces best practices and standard operating procedures for information systems to all areas of the information services department.Creates reasonable project plans that meet client requirements and manages projects and resources effectively.Maintains a multi-year system upgrade plan to support high availability.Delivers systems that adhere to shop standards.Provides employees with opportunities to reach their full potential and provides timely feedback on performance-related matters.Seeks out opportunities for development through training or other means.Successfully interacts with resources and customers throughout the organization, minimizing conflict and representing Information Systems in a positive manner.Performs other related duties as required.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
