What you'll do

In this critical role on AlixPartners' Information Technology team, a successful Infrastructure Applications Senior Engineer will work within Information Technology to serve various functions. You will assist in the responsibility of the design, implementation, and maintenance strategies of multiple enterprise-level applications and platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Windows 11, and System Center.

Known internally as IT Infrastructure Applications Senior Engineer, the position is located in Southfield, MI, reporting to the Infrastructure Applications Manager. Paid relocation is not available for this position.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform.
  • Assist in building solutions that integrate and extend Microsoft 365, Teams, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, Azure Functions, and Copilot Studio.
  • Collaborate with other business functions to understand their business requirements and develop customized solutions that align with their goals.
  • Work closely with other members of the IT team to ensure that our systems are reliable, secure, and meet the needs of our users.
  • Provide technical documentation for applications and processes, including system requirements, design specifications, user guides, and training materials.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of industry best practices, policies, and regulations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in Microsoft Modern Workplace technologies and recommend innovative solutions to the business.
  • Test new software releases, work with management to schedule the best time to update applications and lead the installation, proving and training for users on updates.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to clients and end-users.

What you'll need
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in designing and implementing Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions.
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Power Platform, and Intune.
  • Experience with the Power Platform suite of products (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, etc.) for developing solutions on Teams and SharePoint (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies and hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with working from a ticketing system (i.e. ServiceNow) as part of a larger team supporting many clients.
  • Highly effective customer service skills using best practices, and the interpersonal skills to interact with people at all levels; beneficial to have worked in an ITIL based environment.
  • Process oriented with effective organizational skills and high-level attention to detail with demonstrated skills in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in high pressure situations.
  • Able to maintain momentum on individual projects and prioritize tasks with the ability to juggle interruptions while providing support to the user community.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English (other languages beneficial), demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and customer focus.
  • Occasional travel, less than 5%
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
