Position Summary:

You will be working in Newark, NJ or in the Atlanta office for a division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (Office of Employee Benefits -OEB) and will initiate, manage, and lead multiple complex projects and initiatives to achieve major business strategies and objectives of the OEB. Directly and/or indirectly supervise and guide project members and technical and analytical support staff to accomplish objectives. Provide expertise in business processes and/or systems, and contribute to improvements in project and vendor management processes.

Responsible for development of project plans, execution of project deliverables and identifying and managing risks and issues. Responsible for devising and/or modifying and ensuring implementation of associated operating procedures. Ensure senior leadership and other constituent are informed of project progress, findings, and deployment plans. You will report to the SVP, Chief Technology Officer.

Location: You must live within commuting distance of the Newark, NJ or Atlanta office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead multiple projects to include technology and initiatives of varying complexity at the OEB to advance the delivery and administration of benefits programs and services. Requires a high level of business and technical acumen, as well as project management experience. You will have significant independence and discretion in managing project schedules and setting deadlines.
  • Manage projects by outlining project requirements in terms of resources, equipment, time and costs. Responsible for development of business requirements and overall project plans. Assign small scope projects to project coordinators as appropriate and monitor their progress. Communicate project progress, findings, risks, output and deployment plans to senior leadership and all constituents.
  • You will have significant subject matter expertise in employee benefits, along with knowledge of emerging industry trends to aid in the completion of project deliverables. Ensure new and enhanced products comply and conform to the latest industry rules and regulations and Federal Reserve policy and procedures. Remain current on benefits issues, legislation and technology through industry research, seminars, and workshops.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to project managers. Lead (directly and indirectly) project teams in execution of projects. Confer with and advises team participants on policies and procedures, priorities and methods. Consult with personnel in other business areas to coordinate activities. Responsible for administrative functions in managing the team and project deliverables.
  • Act to resolve and escalate, as appropriate, conflicts, risks, issues and action items as brought forth by direct reports or project team. Respond to issues or problems that arise in day-to-day project operations and/or during development efforts and collaborate with staff define and investigate problems or issues and propose solutions.
  • Demonstrate mastery of project management principles and provide thought leadership on project management approaches. Apply mastery to significantly influence project direction and objectives. Utilize knowledge of latest trends related to information technology and project management to identify and apply qualitative and quantitative best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, procedures and tools supporting project and vendor management.


Education: Bachelor's Degree or 8 years equivalent experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience: Minimum 8 years preferred
