We're actively seeking a talented Residential Mortgage Loan Analyst to join our Residential Whole Loan Investment Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Residential Mortgage Loan Analyst, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by preparing investment packages, including loan collateral reviews, comprehensive underwriting analysis. You will be integrally involved in building a residential loan management platform (loan data risk stratification, portfolio reporting, developing/implementing underwriting guideline reports and loan loss modeling).

How you'll help move us forward:
  • Work within a residential whole loan management team to develop and support quantitative, statistical, and analytical risk strategies as part of managing external 3rd party investment mandates.
  • Perform and implement residential whole loan credit evaluation, underwriting processes, diligence, risk analysis/pricing and portfolio management reporting.
  • Integrate and evaluate loan level data from 3rd party manager into internal portfolio processes/tools/systems (Excel, RiskSpan, Bloomberg, Intex)
  • Supplement manager provided investment reports with market research/data, RMBS/Mortgage loan pricing, economic and consumer data to produce investment packages for senior management review.
  • Build and operate internal residential whole loan platform (loan stratification, loss modeling, loan/investment performance) to provide detailed portfolio risk exposures, manager/loan strategy aggregation and overall portfolio performance/surveillance.


The experience you bring:
  • 2-5 yrs working as part of a residential real estate investment management group, preferably with direct experience managing residential mortgage loans (Non-QM loans, Investor Loans, DSCR loans, Residential Transition. Loans (Fix-N-Flip), GNMA - Early Buy Out (EBO) loan servicing)
  • Experience evaluating market risk issues; loan collateral terms, residential loan investment strategies. Having knowledge of consumer economic risk factors that affect loan pricing and performance.
  • Residential mortgage production, origination and capital market sales.
  • Experience with loan pricing and rate sheets, underwriting guidelines, 3rd party loan sales
  • Experience investment bank/broker - RMBS trading, securities sales/management.
  • Advanced use of Excel and other related financial analysis tools (Bloomberg, Intex, RiskSpan)

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$118,800.00 - $145,200.00
