Job Summary
The Intramurals Operations Assistant oversees the intramural sports participants and spectators. They assist in the enforcement of policy and sport rules, on-site decision making, and conflict resolution; ensuring the safety of all players and spectators based on game flow, facilities, and equipment.
Essential DutiesValidate MWSU ID's and rosters upon arrival through the Banner system and IMLeagues.Educate participants and enforce intramural sports rules and regulations.Prepare all necessary paperwork and equipment for efficient, safe, and service oriented competitions.Maintain proper paper documentation (eligibility, sportsmanship, results, end of night report).Assist in maintaining intramural sports equipment and inventory.Resolve participant conflicts and disputes.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
MWSU StudentDegree SeekingAt least an overall 2.0 GPAEnrolled at least part-timeMay need to qualify for Federal Work StudyMust be able to lift or push a minimum of 45lbsMust be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community patrons.Preferred Qualifications
Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors;or a strong background in health, fitness, nutrition, or management.Currently CPR/AED certified.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Dependable and Accountable.Be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community.Good communication skills.Positive customer service skills.
Physical DemandsMedium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
