The Wang Research Group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Utah is looking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher. This federally funded project is focused on high-performance, chemically recyclable polymer matrices for carbon fiber reinforced polymer materials. This is an exceptional opportunity for a candidate with a strong polymer chemistry background to break new ground in applied polymer material research and build a research program that can launch their independent career. Since 2022, the Wang group has innovated several new fronts in the sustainability of polymer networks, including recent publications on Polymer Chemistry, ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, and ACS Materials Letters. Master synthesizing new monomers and polymers, optimizing their properties, and targeting their performances in electronic devices.Work safely and independently in a wet laboratory setting.Plan and execute research in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Communicate scientific results effectively, both in oral presentations and high-impact publications.Maintain the laboratory as a safe, organized, and welcoming workplace.Minimum Qualifications

Must have obtained a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or closely related areas.Strong record of quality peer-reviewed publications.Experience in chemical synthesis related to esters, amides, imides, acrylates, and epoxides.Excellent communication skills in a diverse team of graduate students, undergraduate students, and postdoctoral researchers.Special Instructions Summary
