The Residential Counselor Role

The Residential Counselor serves as a therapeutic agent to young children and adolescents with social, emotional, and behavioral needs at both of our residential programs. Under the direction of the Program Manager and/or members of the leadership team, Clinician, Assistant Program Manager, and Clinical Case Manager, the Residential Counselor is responsible for directly working with the youth to create, implement, develop, and maintain a strong, supportive, and trauma-informed relationship.In addition, the Residential Counselor is responsible for directly engaging the youth in daily activities, working in groups, and implementing the daily routine. As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the Residential Counselor will collaborate with the clinical staff to ensure the objectives of the individual treatment plans are being met.Job Details

Location: Relief, Western MAThe SHARP Residential Program is designed to support youth (ages 13-18) who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. This specialty residential program supports youth who have experienced trauma, with moderate to severe mental health and behavioral health challenges and may be struggling with their personal identity.Now hiring for Saturday and Sunday shifts, from 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.Monday through Friday shifts, from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. (June – August)Monday through Sunday Overnight shifts from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.Qualifications1-2 years of experience working with children in a residential program preferred.Must be CPR/First Aid certified.Must be 21 years of age or older.Competitive Salary/Comprehensive Benefit PackageHelix Human Services is an inclusive organization.
